One of the best and produced by Microsoft, web search engine is Bing. Formerly Live Search, Windows Live Search and MSN. Steve Ballmer who is the CEO of the Microsoft, he unveiled Bing on 28 March 2009 at the All Things digital Conference which conference was held in San Diego. On 1 June 2009 preview version of Bing released and fully online on 3 June 2009. Both Microsoft and Yahoo! Announced a deal in this deal Bing would power Yahoo! Search. This deal was on 29 July 2009.

History of Bing

MSN Search:

In the Third quarter of 1998, first MSN search engine launched and used search results from Inktomi. MSN search engine was formed by Microsoft also. MSN search consist of index, engine and web crawler. MSN search's untimely version in 1999 which displayed listing from Look smart blended with results from Inktomi. In 1999, short time has got results from Altra Vista were used instead. The index of MSN was updated weekly and sometimes daily for upgrading MSN search and to give own self-built search engine results by Microsoft. Beta program which was upgraded started in November 2004 and in February 2005, beta came out. Pic search which is third party powered for image search.

Window Live Search:

On 8March 2006, Windows Live Search was unveiled which was first public beta of windows live search. On 11 September 2006 final release of Windows Live Search replacing on MSN search. From Windows Live which is new search engine used for search tabs that are integrated news, webs, music, images, local, desktop and Microsoft Encarta. Microsoft replacing Windows Live Search on MSN search where they were stopped Pic search as their third party image provider and they started their own image search which is fueled by their own internal image search algorithms.

Live Search:

Microsoft announced that it would split its search developments from the pervious Windows Live services family and rebranding the service as Live search, on 21 March 2007. Satya Nadella, part of Microsoft's platform and systems division headed Live search which was integrated into Live Search and AD platform. Live Search was merged with Microsoft adCenter. Under the Live Search branding they mad series of reorganizations and consolidations of Microsoft's search offerings. Microsoft announced the discontinuation of Live search Books and Live Search Academic and integrated all academic and book search into usual result and a result of this included the closure of Live Search Books Publisher Program, on 23 May 2008. On July 31, 2008 Windows Live Expo was discontinued. On 18 February 2009 the final reorganization came as Live Search QnA was rebranded as MSN QnA, however, it was later discontinued on 21 May 2009. On 3 June 2009, creating a latest identity for Microsoft's search Services, Live Search was officially replaced by Bing.

Deal With Yahoo!

Microsoft and Yahoo! announced their contract which was complete for 10 years on 29 July 2009. Deal consists of in Yahoo! Search engine would be replaced by Bing. 88% revenue from all search ad sales on site for the first five years of deal from Yahoo!. And reserved right to sell adverts on same Microsoft sites. Own user interface still maintained by Yahoo! Search but will eventually feature "Powered by Bing" branding.
